Objectives we saw, Day 9 to Day 38
| Day and objective | What it says |
|---|---|
| Day 9: Quiet day | Ration carefully. The guide's Supplies page shows how long the food lasts. |
| Day 10: A quieter week | Inspect supplies, keep defences up, and rest at night. |
| Day 11: Smoke over the river | Fires burn unchecked across the district. Keep the balcony door shut when it's windy. |
| Day 12: Close the east fire door | Take a hammer to the jammed door at the east end of the corridor. It's loud: clear the corridor first, or lure the zombies past it (a loud radio works). |
| Day 13: A quiet day | Repair the entrance, top up water and rest. Something moved on the stairs last night. |
| Day 14: They move in groups | Prepare for a crowd tomorrow evening: brace the entrance (furniture, boards), or leave a radio on loud outside the home to draw them off. A latched east fire door splits the crowd. |
| Day 20: Arthur Hale, Floor 28 | Reach floor 28 down lift 2's shaft to the 28 landing door, then the fire doors (Stair A is packed). Get Arthur out of the maintenance room, bring a hammer or a screwdriver and a bandage. Arthur has no water left after Day 21. |
| Day 20: Arthur's workshop | After the rescue: talk to Arthur and dress his cut hand with a bandage. |
| Day 28: The roof | Open lift 2's landing door on 30, climb the shaft ladder, undo the machine room hatch with a wrench, and go out onto the roof. |
| Day 31 to 32: Down Stair A | Get into the management office on floor 27, open the north tank's riser valve (a wrench), cut the chain on the fire doors below 27 (loud, so draw them off first), and see what Arthur left on the floor 26 landing. |
| Day 34 to 36: The people below | The plans and the family note point further down: June's community kitchen on floor 19 and the clinic on 11. Stair A is blocked below 26; the service door in the floor 27 office leads to the shaft and Stair B. |
| Day 38: June's kitchen | Find the way down to floor 19 (the service door in the 27 office, the shaft ladder, Stair B), bring June two empty water containers, and fix the Stair B barrier below 19 before Day 40 (a hammer and a board). |
From the apartment to the building
The first week keeps you in and around your apartment. From Day 11 the objectives widen out: smoke over the river, a jammed fire door at the end of the corridor, then groups of zombies moving through the hallway on Day 14. By Day 20 you're leaving the home floor to reach Arthur on floor 28, and by Day 31 the objectives are about the building's tanks, stairs and landings.
The tools shift too. Early objectives are about buckets, tablets and a couch. Later ones name a hammer, a wrench, a screwdriver, a bandage and a board.
Day 14: they move in groups
The Day 14 objective gives you two ways to handle a crowd arriving the next evening: brace the entrance with furniture and boards, or leave a radio playing loud outside the home to draw them away. It adds that a latched east fire door splits the crowd, which connects to the Day 12 job of closing that door. The Day 12 objective also says a loud radio can lure zombies past the jammed door, so the radio shows up as both a tool and a risk.
What we haven't seen
Day 39 and later, and Days 15 to 19, 21 to 27 and 29 to 30 apart from the lines above, aren't in the footage we read. The deadline in the Day 38 objective, before Day 40, suggests something changes then, but we haven't seen it.
Later days tips
- Keep a hammer from Day 12; the east fire door, Arthur's rescue and the Stair B barrier all ask for one.
- Keep a wrench for the roof hatch and the north tank riser valve.
- Use the radio as a decoy on Days 12 and 14, but remember loud noise draws zombies too.
- Keep the balcony door shut when the objective warns about smoke and wind.
- Fix the Stair B barrier before Day 40, as the Day 38 objective says.
